Olena Sullivan has worked in digital media for over 15 years, both in the U.S. and Canada. After 8 years of designing high school and college text books, educational materials, interactive educational supplements, as well as trade books for publishers across North America, she moved into the fast-paced world of marketing communications, becoming a web specialist in print/web cross-promotional campaigns for hi-tech clients. Eventually, her interest in web development moved her into Intranet portal development and web-based software design as a Creative Director for a portal solutions company. During her stint in web development, she kept up her print design skills by developing marketing materials to support the sales staff. She now brings her award-winning experience into her own company, New Mediatrix, developing creative solutions that cross all media borders.

As a member of RGD Ontario, we are bound by and support their policy on spec work, which prohibits members from engaging in speculative design. Doing work on spec amounts to providing design work for free (or a nominal fee) as a part of a pitch for new business and is universally condemned as an unethical business practice by responsible designers and design organizations around the world. For more information about spec work and the RGD policy, please visit the no-spec.com website.

In her spare time, Olena has volunteered as a graphic designer with Eneract and served as the Art Direction Committee Coordinator for Pride Toronto for the terms of 2005-2007. She is also an accomplished photographer and member of the Shadow Collective, exhibiting regularly at The Charlotte Room and throughout Ontario.
